Maddox Industrial Transformer, one of the largest providers of electrical transformers in the United States, has opened a new 45,000-square-foot production facility in Batavia, Ohio.

An industry leader in reconditioned and new electrical transformers, Maddox has grown rapidly in the past eight years, providing transformers to commercial and industrial clients in all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico. The Batavia, OH, location will be their fourth major production facility, in addition to sales and support offices across the country.

Maddox Ohio Location Details

Located in the old Ford transmission plant at 4330 Batavia Road, Maddox’s new production facility is an important expansion of its transformer reconditioning operations. The location boasts a 40,000-square-foot shop and 5,000 square feet of office space, as well as a four-acre storage yard with space for up to 1,200 transformers.

The shop is outfitted with fourteen reconditioning stations and two overhead cranes to move units between stations, a paint booth, and mobile gantry crane for loading transformers in the yard.

Part of the facility is dedicated warehouse space, storing a reserve of parts for all of Maddox’s facilities. This reserve parts storage allows Maddox to recondition and repair customers’ transformers faster, cutting down on lead times and minimizing the impact of future supply chain issues.

Community Impact

Once fully staffed, the new facility will create 65 new jobs in the Batavia area, supporting 45 shop employees and 20 office employees.

“We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our newest shop in Batavia, Ohio, marking another significant milestone in our nationwide expansion of transformer rebuilding operations, which began in 2015.

“Clermont County provides an ideal environment for our business to flourish. Its appealing cost of living, deep-rooted family values, and rich manufacturing heritage align perfectly with our mission.

“We extend our gratitude to the Batavia community for their warm welcome and look forward to forging lasting partnerships.”
