An Insight Into New Market Trends

AMOTEK presents paper hygiene packaging solutions at MIAC in Lucca

A ‘who’s who’ of the paper hygiene industry gathered at MIAC from October 10 to 12, 2018. Amotek, based in the Italian city of Bologna, represented the Optima Group in Lucca, which is known as the European center of the paper industry. The company specializes in packaging paper hygiene products and has been a part of Optima, which is based in Schwäbisch Hall (Germany), since 1999. Around 6,000 visitors were greeted at MIAC by 370 exhibitors. Amotek primarily presented packaging solutions for nonwoven and tissue products at the exhibition.

“Amotek didn’t receive quite as many visitors as last year, which is due to increasing raw material costs and other exhibitions being held at the same time,” reports the Amotek sales team. Nevertheless, it was once again clear that MIAC is a key meeting point for the industry. It provides a wonderful opportunity for companies to exchange new information with visitors, partners, and other market players, allowing an insight into current market trends. The trend toward recyclable packaging emerged once again.

On an exhibition area of around 36 square meters, the paper hygiene experts presented the company portfolio, which includes cost-efficient packaging machines and complete packaging lines for tissue, nonwoven, and consumer products. Packaging solutions for face wipes and toilet roll were the focus of this year’s MIAC. These solutions were presented using wall graphics, videos, and product samples.

Toilet roll packaging solutions the focus of visitor interest
Visitors expressed the most interest in packaging solutions for toilet roll, such as the Amotek PB182 and PB169 EV. Both existing and new projects could be discussed there and then. Amotek will also be attending MIAC 2019. This will be held in Lucca once again, from October 9 to 11. 24 percent of global tissue production is carried out in Lucca.
